About once a month since February of 2018 I have been flying a wastewater plant under construction to take some shots of progress. Here they are in order showing the almost completely original plant, digging for the new basins and the now the basins nearly complete. This plant is adding annoxic zones and dewatering.

We just returned form a vacation to North Carolina which was great but had some trying moments. Our little girl got an ear infection and was not a great sleeper in bed with us so my morning started before 4 am most of the time. We did have a great time and were able to spend some time with loved ones. I had an extra day when we got back so I work up early and tackled a difficult hike I've been thinking about for quite a while. I struggled a lot but it helped tie the trip and the last couple months together. The long struggle and long game are worth it. I find myself seeking the quick dopamine hits with my phone, food, and all kinds of other things in life. The 5 hr hike was not quick or easy success.

Biological treatment of wastewater is an amazing thing. One small portion in some facilities is taking solids, digesting them, capturing the gas they produce and then dewatering those solids. That gas can be corrosive and eat away metal so the domes need to be replaced. This was the removal of an old digester lid. The weight of this guy was around 40,000 lbs and is 100' dia.

Friday was the culmination of recital week with Barbara Ellis Studio of Dance, followed by a trip to the AFA fire department to watch a helicopter take off and a car be lit on fire. Then off to a friends birthday party. It was quite full!
