We start them young around here.
Eli and I had an evening to hang out and relax and I put that little man to work. I have tons of images to edit and lots of blog post to post.
I have been watching tons of Kelby training videos the last couple weeks. There was a huge tip that I have heard about a billion times but this time it stuck. Shutter speed controls that ambient light and the flash controls the flash output. Look at the EXIF data below that picture. With that slow of a shutter speed and hand holding the camera the subject should be blurred because of the camera shake. The added flash “stopped” the motion.
The first picture is a combo of flash and ambient light. I under exposed the ambient light and added a bit of fill flash.
Below is only ambient light. The top is the brightest part of the image and the working dude does not stand out.
Here is my little way to add some light the the bosses face. The flash was set to 1/128th power and bounced off the computer screen.
Here is the final image again!
So glad I tried something new tonight.
