This picture taught me…

  1. Some planning can go a long way
  2. It doesn’t matter where you are…there is always potential for great pictures
  3. Light temperature is important when 2 light sources are being used
  4. Aperture is important. (H’s eyes are in focus but E is out of focus)

To get this image I was in the garage with a white sheet as the background, one light sitting on an old fish tank with a CTO gel and a siding piece acting as a GOBO, one light on a moving box with a diffuser in front of it and 2 great subjects.  I did have to color correct the background to get to white and I cropped the picture.  This is a great step in the right direction.  More to come I hope tonight.  I think we will try a black background with 1 light in front with a reflector on the other side and a hair light. 

Did I mention that the “other light” that I am using is from Home Depot?
