My wife is past her due date! She was due on April 5th and is ready to pop. The other night we took a couple pictures in a hope they would be the last until the little one came to see us.
We are living with my very gracious in-laws so the nursery is a small corner in the basement. We have set up the crib and the mobile. I thought I would take some pictures with the wife in front of our babies new home.
We have countless pictures with this black mutt deciding she needs to be involved.
Here is the mama. She was almost to her due date at this time so we thought we would get a couple pictures of the baby and the crib.
Using a hotshoe flash has helped me so many times. This was the first time that I was shooting in a room with a mirror and I didn’t even realize it until after I was finished taking pictures. If you look behind Heather in the first and second pictures you can see the reflection from a Coca-Cola mirror!
We headed outside to a local park but it was dark. I wanted to use the off camera flash control that is included in my 7D. I tried a creative picture with her team player playing basketball.
It is not quite what I had envisioned. It was dark out and getting the camera to focus was difficult. I had to turn on focus assist. Heather is standing about 20’ in front of the basketball hoop and you can see the on camera flash lighting her up and the other flash lighting up the hoop behind her.
